Veronica is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Veronica also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Veronica has lived and worked in many different parts of Texas. She currently resides in Ulvade, Texas, which is right outside of San Antonio.
Veronica has endless amounts of experience, which has enabled her to feel confident and knowledgeable when working with clients struggling with a variety of issues. She has a long history of working in the private practice setting, community/non-profit setting, and school settings. She has worked closely with other mental health practitioners, care-takers, and case workers throughout her career in mental health while she provided services for families, parents, and individuals of all ages. Currently, Veronica treats adults, young adults and teens, and children ages six and up. She enjoys working with families and parents while focusing on family dynamics. Veronica aims to provide a supportive environment where real change can be made and maintained even after therapy has been completed.
Veronica is very eager to always improve and learn more. She feels strongly about bettering herself as a therapist since her clients are looking to constantly better themselves by committing to therapy. Veronica is a very well-rounded therapist. She works very hard with her clients to get lasting results. Her previous work history has enabled her to confidently work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma related disorders, self-esteem and confidence issues, addiction/substance use, family conflict, and eating disorders- including binge eating and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder. She also thrives in working with the LGBT-Q community and other minorities. Veronica is fluent in Spanish and English.
Veronica takes an integrated approach and collaborates with her clients to individualize care. Her clinical style is influenced by Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and she uses strength-based, evidenced-based approaches to provide psychoeducation and help shift dynamics to create change. Veronica truly loves what she does. She cares about helping others find happiness and a motivation to be content with their lives. She is eager to hit the ground running with her clients. Veronica believes with a good therapeutic relationship, motivation, and realistic goals, clients can make changes they want so they can enjoy their daily lives.
For fun, Veronica enjoys spending time with her husband and spending time with family. They enjoy getting out, traveling, and eating good food!
