TERESA TRIBETT

Teresa is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University Texas in San Antonio. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Drama from Trinity University in San Antonio. Teresa lives in San Antonio with her family. 

Teresa has been working in the mental health field for the past 15 years in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospitals and community non profit agencies, and private practices. These experiences have afforded her the opportunity to hone her clinical skills of diagnostic assessment, seeing individual clients, teens/adolescents, couples, and families for therapy.  Teresa takes great pride in being a sounding board through evidenced based therapeutic approaches for her clients. Teresa uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Care with a lot of her clients. She is very confident in her clinical skills and believes each client should have a personalized treatment journey- each client’s struggles are personal and individualized. 

Teresa is experienced in treating depression, crisis counseling (including self-harm and suicidal ideation), anxiety-related disorders, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, family issues, anger management, grief & loss, navigating gender identity, life transitions, and more. She incorporates expressive arts and creative approaches in her therapy sessions. She is a person centered therapist and values establishing a healthy rapport with each of her clients. Teresa believes trust and compassion go a long way in a therapeutic environment.  

Teresa finds walking with her clients through their healing journey to be powerful and advantageous. She challenges her clients when they need to be challenged and provides support and encouragement when they need it. Teresa believes it is a privilege to help those struggling. She has the ability to make one feel comfortable and accepted during sessions. The decision to open up and be vulnerable is not easy, but she is glad you have taken the first step.

In Teresa’s free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and son. She loves being outside and traveling. She also likes to watch a good movie and read a good book!
