Jane is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Education from The University of Honolulu as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University. Jane grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. After living in various climates across the country, she and her husband have relocated to Dallas.
Jane began her career as a teacher in Honolulu, HI. After ten years of teaching, she returned to graduate school and pursued a career as a therapist. Since making this decision, she hasn’t turned back. Jane has been working in the mental health field for the past six years in a variety of settings to include: private practice, inpatient hospitals and the ER, and the school setting. These experiences have afforded her the opportunity to hone her clinical skills of diagnostic assessment, facilitating process groups, and of course, seeing individual clients, couples, and families for therapy.
Jane is trained to see a variety of people with a variety of issues. She is comfortable seeing teens, adults, couples and families. She is equipped to see veterans, members of the LGBTQ community, and other minorities. Jane is experienced in treating depression, anxiety related disorders, personality disorders, addiction, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, family issues, and anger management. She is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotion- Focused Therapy (EFT), and Prepare and Enrich, which is a couples focused approach.
Jane finds working alongside her clients to be an honor and a privilege. She tailors her approach to each client’s needs. Jane is relatable and has the ability to make one feel comfortable and accepted during sessions. She takes pride in collaborating with her clients to get them back on their feet and handle what the world is putting on their plate.
